  L’exemple choisi par Google n’est pas anodin : il montre une première différence de taille entre Bard et ChatGPT. En effet, l’une des principales limites de ChatGPT réside dans ses données : elles n’ont pas été mises à jour depuis 2021 !                                                                                                    
                                                                                                       
  À l’inverse, la technologie de Google est connectée au web. Elle est donc en mesure d’interpréter des données très récentes et d’apporter des réponses beaucoup plus pertinentes à ses utilisateurs. C’est clairement l’un des points forts de Bard face à ChatGPT – qui va donner quelques sueurs froides aux enseignants.                                                                                                    
 
  ChatGPT est construit sur les modèles d’OpenAI et la technologie GPT-3.   Die neue Bing-Version soll nun nach Darstellung von Microsoft „ein von KI angetriebener Ko-Pilot für das Internet“ sein. KI soll auf verschiedene Weise zum Einsatz kommen. Zum einen sollen bei Suchanfragen neben traditionellen Ergebnissen auch separate Antworten des Sprachmodells stehen. Beispielsweise bei der Frage, wie man Eier in einem Kuchen mit anderen Zutaten ersetzt. Dann würde Bing direkt eine ausführliche Anleitung einblenden, ohne dass Nutzer erst eine Reihe verschiedener Suchergebnisse durchgehen müssten.
   
  Zum anderen gibt es eine interaktive Chatfunktion, die für komplexere Anfragen gedacht ist. Zum Beispiel nach bestimmten Reiserouten oder danach, ob ein bestimmtes Möbelstück zum Transport in ein bestimmtes Automodell passen würde.
   
  Die neue Bing-Suchmaschine ist sofort verfügbar, allerdings erst noch als „limitierte Vorschau“, was heißt, dass Nutzer vorerst nur eine begrenzte Zahl an Suchanfragen stellen können. Für die vollständige Variante können sie sich auf eine Warteliste eintragen lassen. Zunächst soll es die neue Suchmaschine nur auf Personalcomputern geben, eine Version für mobile Geräte sei aber in Vorbereitung.
   
  Microsoft stellte auch eine mit KI-Funktionen ausgestattete neue Version seines Internetbrowsers Edge vor. Dort gibt es ein separates Fenster, von dem aus Nutzer zum Beispiel Finanzberichte zusammenfassen oder Einträge auf dem Karrierenetzwerk Linkedin schreiben lassen können.

Google has dismissed a senior software engineer who claimed the company’s artificial intelligence chatbot LaMDA was a self-aware person.
                                                                                                    
  Google, which placed software engineer Blake Lemoine on leave last month, said he had violated company policies and that it found his claims on LaMDA (language model for dialogue applications) to be “wholly unfounded”.

  Last year, Google said LaMDA was built on the company’s research showing transformer-based language models trained on dialogue could learn to talk about essentially anything.
 
Lemoine, an engineer for Google’s responsible AI organisation, described the system he has been working on as sentient, with a perception of, and ability to express, thoughts and feelings that was equivalent to a human child.
  “If I didn’t know exactly what it was, which is this computer program we built recently, I’d think it was a seven-year-old, eight-year-old kid that happens to know physics,” Lemoine, 41, told the Washington Post.
